How To Join Our Clan
So you want to join KOA? All players are welcome to join us as long as they can meet the following criteria:
- You're an active UT99 player. You don't have to be skilled, or even know how to play StrangeLove yet. You just have to be willing to learn, a team player, and have a good attitude. We're looking for friends here at KOA, so you have to be personable.
- You have to be able to follow the clan's rules (see below). This includes the server rules as well.
- You're dedicated to becoming a positive influence on the StrangeLove community.
- You must be dedicated to KOA. |KOA| has some of the most loyal members out of any of the SLV clans. We frown on "clan hoppers"; be sure you want to join and stay with KOA before applying.
- You play actively on UT StrangeLove servers. The more we see you playing and get to know you, the better your chances of our accepting you.
If you meet those criteria, you're well on your way. The next step is to email
to ask for consideration towards becoming a member of KOA -- write a short email about yourself, including your age, some information about yourself, why you want to join KOA, and other information you might think would make us consider you a good candidate for membership.
Note that KOA does not allow potential new members to wear any form of |KOA| tag; please do not wear a |KOA| tag until we inform you that you may do so.
Some applicants may be accepted right away; others may be told that we'd like to observe them a while longer. The more active you are on KOA's server, the quicker we're likely to allow you membership. This is because we want to observe you in-game before granting you membership, to make sure that our good name as a clan is well preserved. We utilize a clan voting process to determine who to allow into our clan; don't be surprised if we take two to three weeks to get back to you.
Please, serious applicants only. If you apply for KOA, please be sure that you actually wish to be a part of KOA and that you intend to stay an active member of KOA for a reasonable amount of time.
Clan Rules
- Have fun!
- Keep the negativity to a minimum. Try to preserve a happy-go-lucky image for our clan members.
- Respect everyone at all times, both members and non-members. Other clans may go around spouting trashtalk, but we're KOA, we're better than that.
- Absolutely no laming! That is, repeatedly killing yourself to lower your score. I'm not sure why anyone would want to do this, but people do. But those people that do aren't KOA members.
- All members must be active unless there are extenuating circumstances. Members who go three months without an in-game appearance will be considered to have quit the clan.
- While using your normal KOA-joined name, please wear the |KOA| tag in front of your name at all times. If you want to hide your KOA membership for whatever reason, please use a different name than normal while playing.
- Abide by the wishes of all server admins. This includes on other servers as well as our own. If you're a guest on another server, follow their rules. If the other server is a clan server, treat the host clan with respect; if they disrespect you, try not to dumb down to their levels.
- Absolutely no intentional team killing. Any KOA member caught intentionally teamkilling other players will result in a loss of membership and banning from KOA server.
- No abusing your administrative powers on KOA Server. Many KOA members are granted some form of administrative powers on KOA's server for purposes of enforcing server rules. Any KOA member who abuses said power will have their administrative abilities revoked from the server. If you kick other users, you better have a good reason. The chat console and administrative actions are all logged; the truth behind power abuses will always come out, so think before you act.
